HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College men's ice hockey team lost 3-1 to visiting UMass Boston on Saturday afternoon at Lee Clement Arena in Henniker, New Hampshire in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) action.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- NEC freshman center Paul Waldhauser (Klagenfurt, Austria), one of the bright spots of this season so far, scored his second career goal with 5:39 to go in the game, assisted by junior forward David Novotny (Boca Raton, Fla.).
- UMass Boston picked up goals from junior forward Evan Googins (Braintree, Mass.), sophomore forward Devin Moran (Leominster, Mass.) and senior defenseman Ryan Rowland (Manahawkin, N.J.), with Moran's goal proving to be the game-winner.
- NEC senior goaltender Kai Tomita (Misawa, Japan) posted his best statistical performance to date, tallying 35 saves against 38 shots on goal.
- UMB senior goaltender Sam Best (Woburn, Mass.) finished with 13 stops in net.
