HENNIKER, NH- The New England College field hockey team earned a dominate win over the Blazers of Elms College, 8-1 from Don Melander Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Throughout the Majority of the first quarter was a defensive standstill on both sides up until the 5:54 mark where the Pilgrims found the back of net thanks to graduate midfielder Mikayla Vincent (Newburyport, Mass.) scores with the assist from freshman midfielder Neila Jones (Rowley, Mass.). Shortly after at 2:55 senior forward Emma LaPierre (Franklin, N.H.) from sophomore forward Martina Hill (Abbot, Maine).
- The second quarter consisted of both teams being defensively stout with no goals allowed going into halftime.
- From there on out NEC didn't take their foot off the gas pedal as they scored three goals in each quarter. The Blazers did manage to score a goal in the fourth quarter at 5:45 from freshman forward Olivia Ward (Hartwick, MA) assisted by senior forward Victoria Accorsi (East Windsor, CT) which was the final goal of the game that resulted in the GNAC victory on the day.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Sophomore goalkeeper Makenzie Anderson (Antrim, N.H.) appeared in the game for the first 45:00 of play and freshman goalkeeper Amy Philbin (Long Island, N.Y.) took over for the remainder making two saves.
- NEC Vincent was the star of the outing, scoring four goals and two assists. This contest marks her eclipsing a milestone recording over 100 points on the season thus far.
- NEC graduate forward Drea Chin (Laconia, N.H.) finished with two goals and an assist.
- NEC senior forward Emma LaPierre (Franklin, N.H.) and freshman forward Kaylyn Trubiano (Keene, N.H.) compiled a goal each.
- NEC Hill, Jones, and freshman midfielder Kacey McClay (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) gathered an assist respectively.
UP NEXT
- NEC plays their final regular season game on Wednesday at 7:00 PM as they travel to Nichols College for a final tune-up before the GNAC Tournament Quarterfinals.
- Elms will be up against Colby-Sawyer on Wednesday at 7:00 PM.
