DUDLEY, Mass. - The New England College field hockey team gets a momentum-building win at Nichols College on Wednesday evening at the Vendetti Field in non-conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- NEC graduate forward Mikayla Vincent (Newburyport, Mass.) led the 'Grims once again in the shutout by putting in two goals. The first of which was scored with 1:17 remaining in the second quarter when junior midfielder Meaghan McCamish (Warwick, R.I.) was able to bat around the ball to her in a scramble. The second goal came off a strike attempt by NEC but Vincent was able to rebound and send in a high ball over the goalie for back-to-back goals.
- 'Grims sophomore midfielder Cristina Manzi (Peapack, N.J.) was the first player to score in the game as struck in a goal off a pass from graduate forward Drea Chin (Laconia, N.H.) with 12:27 left in the second quarter.
- The round out the victory, Chin has been also one of the more consistent scorers for NEC as she was able to get a goal against the Bison after getting a position reset and driving toward the goal and shooting at a difficult angle to eventually give the 'Grims a 4-0 win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- NEC sophomore goalkeeper Makenzie Anderson (Antrim, N.H.) played the full game but did not have much activity while saving only three shots that were faced.
- Nichols junior goalkeeper Sophia Venable (Troy, N.Y.) came away with 14 saves despite the loss.
- The 'Grims outshot the Bison by a huge 29-4 advantage.
- NEC was also given more penalty corners in the evening matchup with a 12-2 advantage
