Box Score 2 HENNIKER, N.H.- The New England College Softball team scored 11 runs combined in the four-inning in their Senior Day sweep of Mitchell College in New England Collegiate Conference action Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One – New England College 6, Mitchell College 0
In the first trip through the lineups for both sides, the pitching staff controlled the game, as there were two hits in the first three innings. The Pilgrims took the lead in the bottom of the fourth, as Destiny Helmedach singled home Emily Gagne. The next batter, Daelyn Ross, hit a three-run home run over the rightfield fence. NEC would add two more runs in the inning to go up 6-0, as Naomi Medrano and Olivia Olson picked up RBI for the 'Grims.
The two pitching staff settled in again as neither offense could get a runner to third base. New England College went on to win game one, 6-0.
Emily Farone picked up the complete-game win, as she struck out five in 7.0 innings and scattered three hits.
Game Two – New England College 10, Mitchell College 2- 5 innings
In the top of the first innings, Mitchell got on the board as Brooke Whitmarsh tripled down the right-field line to make it 1-0. The Pilgrims answered in the bottom half of the inning, as Helmedach singled home Jailen Dickens. Ross continued her offensive tear at the plate as she doubled home Helmedach, making it 2-1 NEC. Monica Andrade scored in the bottom of the second innings on an Emily Gagne bunt single, making it 3-1 Pilgrims. The Mariners cut the deficit in half as Emma LaBreak scored on a Jenna Bennett single.
New England College grabbed two runs in the bottom of the third, as Destiny Cardona tripled down the right-field line before scoring on Emily Nelson's groundout. The Pilgrims put the game away in the bottom f the fourth, as they plated six runs. Andrade scampered home on a Dickens groundout while Helmedach drove in Gagne with her single to centerfield. Ross and Cardona had back-to-back doubles, pushing the lead to 9-2 before Cardona scored the tenth run on a Nelson single.
Naomi Medrano picked up the win after getting two strikeouts in 3.0 innings, while Olivia Olson recorded her first career save after throwing 2.0 innings of no-hit softball.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
