HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College field hockey team won 2-0 against visiting Thomas College on Saturday at Don Melander Field in Henniker, New Hampshire in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) action.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• After a scoreless first, the Pilgrims got on the board 2:30 into the second quarter when senior forward Drea Chin (Laconia, N.H.) scored her team-high seventeenth goal of the season.
• Later in the second quarter, sophomore midfielder Meaghan McCamish (Warwick, R.I.) would double the 'Grims lead with an unassisted goal of her own.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• NEC graduate goalkeeper Jackie Mountford (New London, N.H.) shutout the Terriers with a total of six saves.
• Thomas goalkeeper sophomore Elise Syphers (Auburn, ME) ended the game with six saves in the loss.
• The Pilgrims narrowly outshot the Terriers 12-11.
• NEC is now 8-10 all-time against Thomas. The two schools tied the season series at 1-1.

SENIOR DAY

• Prior to the game, the New England College field hockey program and athletics department recognized this year's senior class as part of senior day. Drea Chin, Jackie Mountford, Mikayla Vincent (Newburyport, Mass.), Makenzie Reed (Highgate, Vt.), Giuliana Kevlin (Laconia, N.H.), Alivia Proulx (Londonderry, N.H.), Neve Demarest (Templeton, Mass.), Renee Bouchard (Swanton, Vt.), Jessika Oyola (Manahawkin, N.J.), and Lilli McCormack (Dexter, Maine) were honored by coaches, teammates, family members and fans for all their accomplishments at NEC both on and off the field. Although their time with the program may be coming to an end, they will forever be a part of the 'Grims family.
