Women's Soccer Picks Up First Conference Win of the Season

QUINCY, MASS. - The New England College women's soccer team picked up their first conference victory at Eastern Nazarene Tuesday evening at Veterans Memorial Stadium. 
 

THE BASICS 
Score:         New England College 3, Eastern Nazarene 1 
Record:       Pilgrims (2-10-6, 1-1-3), Lions (2-12-1, 0-4-1) 
 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • In the 34th minute, senior Reese Hultgren (Charlton, Mass.) would score off a header from first-year Fernanda Rojas (Puebla, Mexico) to give the Pilgrims a 1-0 lead going into halftime. 

  • NEC would add to their lead in the 59th minute after first-year Briana Lopes (East Providence, R.I.) scored with an assist from senior Mackenzie Fels (Centereach, N.Y.). Junior Khaya Sims (Surprise, Ariz.) would receive a pass from Lopes to find the back of the net in the 63rd minute. In the 83rdminute, ENC first-year Jordan Lee (Hampden, Mass.) would score the final goal of the match off a pass from sophomore Kayla Dorn (Hampton, Ill.).
     

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • New England College would outshoot the Lions 18-7 throughout the contest.

  • New England College travel to Lesley Univ. on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 12:00 pm.
