Softball Bows Out of NECC Playoffs

REVERE, Mass. - The New England College Softball team dropped two games in the New England Collegiate Conference Softball Tournament, as they are bounced from the tournament.  

 
THE BASICS 
Score: Lesley University 14, New England College 0 (Game One) 
Becker College 9, New England College 7 (Game Two) 
 
Records: Pilgrims (14-10) | Lynx (14-5) | Hawks (13-15) 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED 
After dropping game one against Lesley 14-0, New England College started out fast, as Destiny Cardona doubled to left center plating Destiny Helmedach on the play. Becker was able to take the lead with four runs in the top of the second.  

The Pilgrims were able to tie the game in the fourth, as Emily Nelson had a two-run single before Cameron LeClaire scored on an error by the shortstop. The Hawks regained the lead as they plated two runs in the fifth, then three in the sixth. NEC was able to get within two, as Taylor Barbour had a pinch hit, two run homerun.  

  

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • Lesley now leads the all-time series 5-4, while NEC leads the all-time series 3-2 against Becker.
