LEICESTER, Mass. - The New England College Softball drops two games to Becker College in the regular-season finale, on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One – Becker College 11, New England College 5
New England College was the first team to score, as Emily Gagne scored on an error by the left fielder. The Hawks answered in the bottom half of the inning with three in the frame. The Pilgrims tied the game at 3-3, with a Victoria Correia RBI double, followed up by an Emily Gagne RBI single.

The back-and-forth game would ensue, as Becker plated two runs in the bottom of the second. Emily Nelson knotted the game at 5-5, with a two-run homerun in the top of the fifth. In the bottom half, the Hawks plated six runs to take an 11-5 lead. New England College was able to get runners on first and second in the top of the seventh but were unable to score.

Game Two – Becker College 5, New England College 4
For the second-straight game, NEC was able to score in the top of the first inning, as Destiny Helmedach doubled down the left-field line, plating two runs. The Hawks were able to answer with a two-run homerun in the bottom of the first to tie the game. In the bottom of the second, Becker plated two runs to go up 4-2.

New England College bounced back to tie the game, as two runs scored in the top of the third. The Hawks were able to walk off in the bottom of the seventh, as Ashley Veillette doubled home Kayla Dell'Anno with two outs in the inning.

• After today's doubleheader, the all-time series is tied at 3-3.

New England College will head into the NECC Tournament as the three seed and will take on Lesley University in the first round of a double-elimination bracket.
