HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One – Becker College 6, New England College 3
New England College got on the board in the bottom of the first, as Emily Gagne scored on a passed ball before Chanel Welch crossed the plate on a Cameron LeClaire bunt single. Becker cut the deficit to 2-1, as Emily Iacovelli scored on a bunt single.
The Pilgrims added an insurance run in the bottom of the second, as Rachel Senechal scored on a Welch single to left field. Becker was able to get within one in the top of the fifth, as Ashley Veillette had an RBI double, making it 3-2 NEC.
In the top of the seventh, the Hawks had three-straight double to take a 4-3 lead and expanded their lead to 6-3. New England College was able to get runners on second and third with one out but were unable to score either run.
Taylor Barbour took the loss, despite striking out 11 in seven innings.
Game Two – New England College 4, Becker College 1
Becker was the first team to threaten, as they had runners on second and third with just one out, in the top of the second, but the Pilgrims were able to get two groundouts to get out of the jam. New England College was able to get on the board in the bottom of the third, as Senechal scored on an RBI bunt by Welch. Emily Gagne made it 2-0 NEC, as she crossed the plate on a Destiny Helmedach single to centerfield.
The Pilgrims added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth, as Destiny Cardona scored on a Sarah Ferguson sac fly. Monia Andrade crossed the plate on Emily Gagne's infield single. Becker was able to get on the board in the top of the sixth, as Holly Letourneau hit a solo homerun to left-centerfield. The Hawks would threaten in the top of the seventh but were unable to tie the game.
