Box Score 2 CONTOOCOOK, N.H. The New England College softball team bounces back as they sweep Dean College in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) action Sunday afternoon at Blood Field.

How it HappenedGame One New England College 8, Dean College 0New England College got on the board in the bottom of the first inning.
Jasmin Alvarado led off the frame with a single to center field. After advancing to second on a wild pitch, she would steal third and then head home on a high throw down to third by the Dean catcher.
The Pilgrims would extend their lead in the second inning.
Emily Nelson led off the inning with a double to right center field, but back-to-back singles from
Taylor Barbour and Shawnie Clark would give NEC the 2-0 lead. NEC picked up their third run of the game with a sac fly to right field.
In the bottom of the fourth, New England College picked up three runs on two hits. After
Emily Nelson reached second on a Dean error,
Taylor Barbour doubled to left field. Clark made it second and third with a single to left field before
Alexis Hoelzel collected her second RBI of the game with a sac fly. The sixth run would score on a double steal.
In the bottom of the fifth, Rachel Senechal reached on a single to the shortstop, Destiny Helmedach doubled to right field before scoring on Julia D'Andrea double down the right field line to end the game.
Taylor Barbour got the start in the circle for the Pilgrims, the sophomore struck out 10 while allowing just two base runners.
Game Two New England College 11, Dean College 3NEC struck in the first inning, as Chanel Welch doubled down the left field line. Welch would come around to score as Helmedach reached on a fielding error by the first baseman. Gabriella Marcheschi would drive in Helmedach with a single to left field, making it 2-0 Pilgrims.
The Bulldogs would tie the game in the top half of the second, as they would plate two runs on three hits. New England College regained the lead in the bottom half of the frame as they started out the inning with three straight singles before Yesenia Dominguez scored on Alvarado's sac fly to right field. Dean College put up one run in the top of the sixth, as Alexis Portales singled home Bridget McDonough
The Pilgrims doubled their advantage in the bottom of the third, as Dominguez singled to third base, scoring Taylor Dill from third. NEC score four runs in the bottom of the fourth, pushing their lead to 8-2. Alvarado doubled to left field but would come all the way around to score with Scribner as the ball rolled under the fielder's glove. Helmedach crossed the plate on a Marcheschi double to left center field. Marcheschi scored as D'Andrea reached on a throwing error.
NEC would push their lead to 9-2 in the bottom of the fifth, as Scribner scored on a ground out. In the top of the sixth, McDonough scored on a single to left field from Portales. In the bottom half, the Pilgrims would score a pair to end the game.
Emily Farone pitched 6.0 innings for NEC, striking out four while allowing just one earned run.
Inside the Numbers - This was the first time that these two schools have faced each other in softball, NEC now leads the all-time series 2-0
