Daelyn Ross came through for the Pilgrims, as the freshman hit a two-run home run over the left field fence, making it 2-0 NEC. In her next at-bat, Ross hit a solo home run, making it 3-0.
Emily Nelson extended the New England College advantage, as she singled home
Taylor Barbour. Barbour tacked on another run for the visiting Pilgrims, as she singled up the middle, but Chanel Welch scored on the play, as the Becker center fielder miss played the ball.
Barbour picked up her 13
th win of the season after having a career-high 14 strikeouts in her complete-game performance.
Game Two New England College 11, Becker College 4NEC got on board in the top of the first, as Destiny Helmedach drove in
Jasmin Alvarado with a sacrifice fly to center field. Ross launched her third long ball of the game, making it 2-0 Pilgrims. In her next at-bat, Ross picked up her fifth RBI of the game with a single to left field. New England College would pick up two more runs in the third inning, expanding their lead to 5-0. After Ross picked up her third RBI of the game with a sacrifice fly, Becker got on the board in the bottom half of the inning, as Emily Iacovelli drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.
In the top of the sixth, Helmedach singled home Welch with a single to right center field. The Pilgrims would score four runs in the top of the seven, pushing their advantage to 11-1. In the bottom of the seventh, the Hawks were able to get three runs across, cutting their deficit.
Emily Farone collected her seventh win of the season after she scattered 10 hits while striking out five.
