The Pilgrims continued their fast start, by plating four more runs in the second inning, mainly due to a two-RBI triple off the bat of Jasmin Alvarado. Chanel Welch made it 8-1 in the top of the third, after a run-scoring single.

Mount Union responded in the bottom of the third with a pair of runs of their own, but Emily Nelson got those runs back for New England College, as the freshman doubled home two runs. The back-and-forth games would continue in the bottom of the fourth as Savannah Miner hit an RBI double to right center field.

After NEC put up two more runs in the top of the fifth, pushing their lead to eight (12-4), the Raiders cut into the deficit after plating three runs in the bottom of the sixth. Shawnie Clark would single home Aibhlin O'Connor to make it 13-8.
