Kayla Baker was named the head coach of the NEC softball team in January 2025. She earned her first career coaching victory on March 11th with a 9-6 win over North Park. Baker, in her first season, totaled 14 wins and led the team to a GNAC Play-In round matchup.
Coach Baker comes to NEC from Assabet Valley Technical High School where she has served as the head coach of the softball team since March of 2022. She has also been an assistant women's soccer coach at Fitchburg State since August of 2024.
Baker is a 2019 graduate of the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and earned her MBA from Fitchburg State University.
