MIT Rushing Attack Proves Too Much for Pilgrims

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The New England College football team fell to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on Saturday, 70-0, in week two of the 2026 season at Henry G. Steinbrenner Stadium in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

The Engineers pounded the rock all afternoon, totaling 337 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on 49 attempts. MIT added 118 yards and another score through the air.

The NEC defense had a busy day, facing 65 plays from scrimmage. Senior Kaevryel Madison (Concord, N.H.) led the unit with 11 total tackles; senior Hollis Jones (Bow, N.H.) had 10 and shared a tackle-for-loss.

Junior Ethan Cenesca (Manchester, N.H.) intercepted an MIT pass in the Pilgrims' red zone and ran the ball back 50 yards. He added nine tackles, one quarterback hurry, and half a tackle-for-loss. Fellow junior Jayman Jones (Manchester, N.H.) had the team's lone sack.

The Pilgrims return home for their home opener in week three against Fitchburg State next Saturday, September 19th, at 12:00 PM.
