Camryn Lewis Named GNAC Player of the Week

HENNIKER, N.H. - Junior Camryn Lewis (Taunton, Mass.) of the NEC women's basketball team has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week for the week ending on January 25th. This is the second time Lewis has earned the top weekly honor this season.

The double-double machine added two more this week as she pushed her season total to ten. Lewis helped lead the Pilgrims to two wins with an average margin of victory of 23.5 points. On Tuesday, in a 76-57 win over Colby-Sawyer, Cam had 14 points and 13 rebounds. She tallied 18 points and matched a career-high with 17 rebounds in an 81-53 thrashing of Mitchell.

Lewis showed great efficiency this past week, shooting a combined 15-of-23 from the field – good for 65 percent – across 21.0 minutes per game. She averaged 15.0 rebounds per game and now sits second in the GNAC with a season-average of 11.6 boards per contest.

The Pilgrims are now winners of three straight games and currently sit in fifth in the GNAC standings. They continue conference play on Wednesday as they travel to Emmanuel College for a 7:30 PM start time.
