Box Score Newton, Mass. - New England College Men's Basketball dropped an 86–55 decision to Lasell University on Saturday afternoon.
The game started with Lasell going on a 9-0 run before junior Michael Hills (Baton Rouge, La.) could get the 'Grims on the board with a three and then another one made by senior Kenray Emadamerho (Manchester, N.H.) less than a minute later. Over the next two minutes the Lasers went on another 9-0 run, making their lead 22-6. Coming off the bench, junior Jasen Stovall (Tampa, Fla.) scored nine points in the first half, leading the team starting with a made layup. Going into half the Lasers led the 'Grims 50-26.
The second half began with the Lasers going 11-0 in the first five minutes; junior Mike Strazzeri (Chichester, N.H.) started the scoring for the Pilgrims in the second half. sophomore Dimitre Sime (Lowell, Mass.) entered the game halfway through the half and scoring a layup two minutes later with another layup shortly after due to a defensive rebound by junior Shawn O'Keefe (Salem, Mass.). He led the team with 10 points in the second. The team would ultimately lose 86-55.
Team leaders were Stovall and Sime with 13 points each, and sophomore Luke Montejo (Tewksbury, Mass.) led the team with 10 total rebounds.
The team is back in action on Wednesday against Saint Jospeh's College of Maine scheduled to start at 7:00 PM.
