NEWTON, Mass. - The New England College Men's Soccer team dropped a GNAC matchup on the road against Lasell University on Tuesday. The team falls to 5-3, with a 1-2 GNAC record. The Lasers jump to 3-4-1, with a 1-1-1 record within the conference.
It took 4:10 for Lasell to get the first goal on the board as Daniel Faynstein found the back of the net to give the Lasers the lead. After three consecutive corner kicks for the Pilgrims, a Lasell defender clear attempt found his own goal to record NEC's lone goal of the afternoon.
It took just 1:59 for the Lasers to score in the second half with Emilio Magdon converting a penalty kick. The lead would hold until Lasell added one last goal by Antonio Calabrese to seal the 3-1 victory.
Junior Lukas Tate (South Jordan, Utah) made four saves on seven shots on goal from the Lasers while senior Wyatt Flibbert (Windham, Maine) registered a shot on goal for the Pilgrims.
NEC finished with eight shots, with two on goal and 10 corner kicks.
Pilgrims Men's Soccer takes the pitch again on Saturday when they host the Dean College Bulldogs at 4:00 PM on Don Melander Field.
