HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College women's lacrosse team fell against visiting Norwich University in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Wednesday at Don Melander Field in Henniker, New Hampshire.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Norwich's senior midfielder Quinn Mustone (Medford, Mass.) got the scoring started 2:20 into the game as sophomore attacker Breanna Ricker (Laconia, N.H.) and senior attacker Ellie Moriarty (Stow, Vt.) followed up to give the Cadets a 3-0 lead within the first five minutes. Junior attacker Meadow Gilchrist (Stamford, Conn.) found the net for her 32nd goal of the season to cut the lead to two to close out the first quarter. Moriarty, Mustone, and sophomore midfielder Caitlyn Fielder (East Calais, Vt.) all scored in the second to bring a 6-1 Norwich lead to halftime. Freshman Vivian Buntin (Middlebury, Conn.) scored 45 seconds into the second half to help the Cadets jump out to a six-goal lead.
- The Pilgrims were able to cut the lead in half with goals from sophomore attacker Mackenzie McDonald (Boscawen, N.H.), freshman attacker Lilly Vaughn (Belmont, N.H.), and Gilchrist. Ricker and Fielder brought the lead back to five with goals before McDonald netted the final Pilgrims goal as the Cadets scored seven more to solidify the eleven-goal win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Norwich junior goalie Bailey Manning-Ingala (West Hartford, Conn.) allowed five goals on thirteen shots in the win.
- NEC junior goalkeeper Isabella Marzano (Warwick, R.I.) made 19 saves on 35 shots from the Cadets.
- Fielder led the game in shots on goal with eight as Moriarty, Ricker, and Gilchrist all tied for second with five.
