HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College women's lacrosse team came out on top against visiting Anna Maria College in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Saturday at Don Melander Field in Henniker, New Hampshire.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The AMCATS scored the first three goals as senior midfielder Riley Michaud (Clinton, Mass.) scored two of her team-leading four goals in that span. Sophomore attacker Kelsey Wilson (West Warwick, R.I.) scored the first of her two in the run. junior attacker Meadow Gilchrist (Stamford, Conn.) scored twice along with one from sophomore midfielder Carmela Goodwin (Lebanon, N.H.) as the teams were tied at three heading into the second quarter.
- Goodwin and Gilchrist went back-to-back as they opened the second frame with a two-goal lead. A player-down goal from sophomore midfielder Christine Ijawet (Kampala, Uganda) brought the lead to one before Goodwin found the net again for her third goal. Gilchrist and Goodwin went back-to-back again before Wilson scored her second for the AMCATS. Gilchrist scored her fifth as the Pilgrims went into the half with a 9-5 lead.
- The AMCATS scored back-to-back goals off the sticks of Michaud and graduate midfielder Raegan Hachey (Winthrop, Maine) as they brought the lead to two. Gilchrist and sophomore attacker Mackenzie McDonald (Boscawen, N.H.) extended the lead back to four before Michaud scored the last goal of the third for her fourth goal of the game. Goodwin and graduate defender Olivia Stump (Southington, Conn.) traded power play goals before Goodwin scored again and sophomore attacker Lucy Armour (Falmouth, Mass.) finished off the scoring with her 14th goal of the season.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Anna Maria freshman goalie Grace Holden (Centerville, Mass.) saved 14 of the 28 shots she faced.
- NEC junior goalkeeper Isabella Marzano (Warwick, R.I.) made 14 saves on 23 attempts from the AMCATS.
- The Pilgrims won the shots on goal battle 28-23.
- Gilchrist and Goodwin led the game with nine shots on goal each as Michaud led the AMCATS with eight.
- McDonald and graduate midfielder Annalisa Crooks (Nantucket, Mass.) led the game with two assists as sophomore Kelsey Kowal (East Hartford, Conn.) and senior attacker Carly Drew (Rochester, Mass.) each had one for Anna Maria.
