HENNIKER, N.H. - New England College Men's Basketball fell to the University of New England Nor'easters on Saturday in a non-conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.
UNE started hot with a 4-0 lead within the first minute before sophomore Ryan Cuvier (Tewksbury, Mass.) scored the Pilgrims' first three points. The Pilgrims used the deep ball to keep themselves in the game as both sophomore Josh Robie (Bethlehem, N.H.) (2) and junior Michael Hills (Baton Rouge, La.) (3) combined for five three-pointers in the first half. NEC used their offense to go into the half down 43-38 in a half where UNE was up 13 points at one point.
The Nor'easters started the second half with threes by Adam Lux and Dyland Crowley before the Pilgrims answered back with threes from Robie, Hills, and senior Kenray Emadamerho (Manchester, N.H.) to bring the lead down to nine. New England College used their size as sophomore Luke Montejo (Tewksbury, Mass.) and junior Aiden MacLeod (Wilmington, Mass.) would get layups, but the Nor'easters offense kept piling on to close out the 17-point victory.
Robie and Hills finished with 17 points apiece with MacLeod finishing with 10. Hills led the Pilgrims with five rebounds as junior Mike Strazzeri (Chichester, N.H.) led the team with four assists.
Men's Basketball travels to Cambridge, Massachusetts as they take on the Lesley University Lynx on Monday at 6:00 PM.
