Women’s Basketball Ends Season in GNAC Quarterfinals

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The New England College women's basketball team concluded their 2023-2024 season with an 86-67 loss at third-seeded Albertus Magnus College on Tuesday evening at Cosgrove Marcus Messer Center in New Haven, Connecticut in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) quarterfinals.

TURNING POINTS
  • The Falcons pulled away from the Pilgrims in the second quarter, closing out the first half with an 18-5 run. NEC couldn't close the gap in the second half as their season came to an end.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • NEC senior center Kathleen Rodriguez (McFarland, Calif.), the Pilgrims' leading scorer and rebounder who entered the day leading the nation in field goal percentage, finished her collegiate career by scoring 20 points while pulling down 11 boards, all while shooting eight-of-twelve from the floor.
  • Albertus Magnus senior guard Caitlyn Scott (White Plains, N.Y.) led all scorers with 31 points to go along with four rebounds.
  • NEC sophomore guard Macy Gordon (Boscawen, N.H.) posted a career-high 14 points, burying three shots from behind the arc, representing the 'Grims' only trifectas of the evening.
  • Albertus Magnus junior guard Diamond White (Hamden, Conn.)
  • NEC senior guard Juliana Hernandez (McFarland, Calif.) finished with a near-double-double with ten points and nine rebounds.
  • This season represented NEC's first in the GNAC, as the team went 8-6 in conference play to claim the sixth seed.
