HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College women's ice hockey team lost 5-3 to visiting Keene State College on Saturday afternoon at Lee Clement Arena in Henniker, New Hampshire.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Pilgrims took a 2-0 lead into the first intermission before the Owls rallied at the start of the second period, tying it up just 2:55 in as KSC freshman forward Brianna Finke (Cypress County, Alberta, Canada) scored the visitors' first goal then assisted on the second just 11 seconds later.
- With 12:26 left in the second NEC junior forward Meadow Gilchrist (Stamford, Conn.), the 'Grims' leading scorer, scored her sixth goal of the season to put the hosts ahead 3-2 going into the second intermission.
- The third period was all Owls as Keene took the lead on a pair of power play goals and never looked back.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- NEC freshman goaltender Kayden Lallier-Whissell (Stevensville, Ontario) posted 30 saves for the Pilgrims.
- KSC freshman goaltender Makenna Montgomery (St. Albans, Vt.) tallied 19 saves for the Owls.
- KSC senior defender and team captain Haylee Owen (Homer, Alaska) posted a hat trick with three goals, including the game-winner.
- Gilchrist had a goal and an assist for the Pilgrims, bringing her season point total to eight over eleven games. At press time, Gilchrist was tied for second in the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) with her six goals scored.
- NEC junior forward Kate Devlin (Walpole, Mass.) posted a goal and an assist, scoring her first goal of the season.
UP NEXT
- NEC now begins their winter holiday break. The Pilgrims will be back on the ice on Friday, January 3rd when they host Anna Maria College in a 6:00 p.m. game.
- Keene State plays their next game against Vermont State Castleton, that also coming on January 3rd at the Bagley Invitational.
