HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College men's ice hockey team fell 2-5 against visiting AMCATS of Anna Maria College on Tuesday evening at Lee Clement Arena in Henniker, New Hampshire in non-conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Just 29 seconds after puck-drop, the AMCATS took an early 1-0 lead on a goal by Braeden McKinnon (Holland Landing, Ont.). Seven minutes later, Anna Maria doubled their lead on a score from Brandon Della Paolera (Osoyoos, B.C.) to take a 2-0 lead just 7:39 into the game.
- With 7:01 to go in the first, the Pilgrims had a brief answer in the form of a goal from senior forward David Novotny (Boca Raton, Fla.) whose team-leading fourth goal of the season would cut the lead to one. The goal was assisted by senior forward Wyatt Andres (Brainerd, Minn.) and freshman defenseman Andrew Ralston (San Jose, Calif.).
- The visitors would immediately respond with an answer of their own; just 32 seconds after the Novotny goal, Anna Maria would strike again with a goal from Jeremy Dewar (Beaumont, Alb.) to ultimately take a 3-1 lead into the first intermission.
- NEC would pull within one with an early second period goal from Andres who sent a one-timer between the legs of the AMCATS goaltender. The goal was assisted by Novotny and sophomore forward Tyler Love (San Ramon, Calif.) as the 'Grims trailed 3-2 entering the final period.
- Anna Maria would add to their one-goal cushion with two more goals in the third period, as Della Paolera and McKinnon both scored their second goals of the game. The AMCATS would come away with the 5-2 non-conference win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- NEC junior goaltender Danny Miscavish (Macomb, Mich.) entered the game in relief and remained in net for the final 47 minutes of the contest. The junior tallied 17 saves while permitting the final two goals of the evening.
- Anna Maria's sophomore goalkeeper Cole Johnston (Regina, Sask.) stopped 19 shots in the win.
- Shots on goal were 25-21 in favor of the AMCATS.
- The visitors narrowly edged the 'Grims in faceoffs, 32-28.
