HOW IT HAPPENED
- The 'Grims played one of their best sets of the season in the first, winning 25-22 behind three kills and a block by NEC senior middle-blocker Tatiana Sampson (Kailua, Hawaii). But the Scots rallied, pulling away in each of the next three sets.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- NEC sophomore defensive specialist Krissy Cardello (Peabody, Mass.) posted a team-high seven digs on the night, a season-best for the second-year player.
- Gordon junior middle-hitter Annie Murphy (Wenham, Mass.) led all players with 17 kills.
- NEC junior outside hitter Torrance Robertson (Bakersfield, Calif.) filled the stat line with six kills, three aces and three total blocks from the junior-transfer.
- Gordon junior outside hitter Joey Keltner (Anacortes, Wash.) added 16 kills.
- NEC sophomore outside hitter Lily-Anne Heywood (Derry, N.H.) posted four kills with five digs.
