NEW HAVEN, CT - The New England College field hockey team won easily at Albertus Magnus in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Saturday afternoon at the Celentano Field in New Haven, Connecticut.

HOW IT HAPPENED

With 5:56 into the game, NEC freshman forward Adelaide Kelly (Rockport, Maine) did not disappoint as she made her first career goal. She followed up with another goal coming in the 3rd quarter along with an assist and ended the day with a strong debut.

The 'Grims cooled down since Kelly's first goal and started to heat up again when freshman midfielder Conley Ladabouche (Barre, Vt.) struck in a goal 5:33 into the 3rd quarter. Sophomore forward Martina Hill (Abbot, Maine) followed up with a goal of her own 3:42 later into the period to make it 3-0 in favor of NEC.

Graduate forward Mikayla Vincent (Newburyport, Mass.) put the dagger in the Falcons' heart early in the 4th quarter 2:45 in and helped keep Albertus Magnus scoreless to a 5-0 win.

NEC sophomore goalkeeper Makenzie Anderson (Antrim, N.H.) had the support of her teamates in a calm day as she tallied two saves.

Falcons' sophomore goalkeeper Samantha Helwig (Northford, Conn.) was on the frontlines the whole match, and coming up with seven saves.

It was a lopsided game on the attack as NEC put up 20 shots compared to Albertus Magnus' two.

'Grims made much use of their penalties as they had 12 corners with nine coming in the 3rd quarter, and the Falcons getting just one.
