REVERE, Mass. – The New England College softball team ended their 2023 season on Sunday with an 8-0 loss to top seeded Eastern Nazarene College in the championship round of the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Tournament at Griswold Park in Revere, Massachusetts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- NEC freshman shortstop Grace Giesler (La Mirada, Calif.), the 2023 NECC Rookie of the Year and co-Player of the Year, had the only hit of the day for the 'Grims, a lead-off single to open the game.
- ENC junior pitcher Jennelle Munoz (Lake Elsinore, Calif.) pitched a brilliant game for the Lions, allowing just one hit in a five-inning shutout.
- ENC senior outfielder and co-NECC Player of the Year Taylor Brandt (Napa, Calif.) went two for two with two doubles and two runs scored.
ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM
- Giesler and NEC graduate third baseman Destiny Helmedach (Middlefield, Conn.) were both named to the NECC All-Tournament team.
