Bats Come to Life in Game Two as Baseball Crushes Lesley

LEXINGTON, Mass. – After being shutout in a 2-0 loss in game one at Lesley University on Saturday, the New England College baseball team recovered with a 21-12 victory in game two in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) action at Minuteman Field in Lexington, Massachusetts. The Pilgrims conclude their NECC regular season with a 5-7 record in league play, with a 15-20 overall record.
TOP 'GRIMS
  • NEC senior centerfielder Luca Giallongo (Mt. Shasta, Calif.) went three-for-three with two walks in game two, hitting two doubles and driving in three runs.  
  • Senior second baseman Bryce Worth (Southington, Conn.) concluded a strong week with three hits at the plate, with two RBI and crossing home three times himself.
  • Junior third baseman Brett Patnode (Weare, N.H.) finished with two hits, two RBI and two runs scored.
  • Senior pitcher Tim Krol (East Longmeadow, Mass.) had a strong game one outing on the mount squandered after striking out six Lynx in six innings. In game two, Krol produced at the plate, with two hits including a triple and two runs scored.
  • Senior outfielder Patrick Hagerty (Stoughton, Mass.) scored three runs in game two, while driving in a run on a sacrifice fly.

  • NEC is back on the field on Tuesday when they conclude their regular season with a 4:00 p.m. game at Colby College.
