HOW IT HAPPENED
- After the Pilgrims gave up two goals in the first ten minutes of the game, they found themselves still looking at a two-goal deficit going into halftime.
- NEC freshman forward Martina Hill (Abbot, Maine) finally got the 'Grims on the board in the 45th minute with her fourth goal of the season, with an assist to senior defender Alivia Proulx (Londonderry, N.H.), pulling her team to within one.
- That was as close as the Pilgrims would come, however, as the Eagles' defense shut them down, holding them without a shot for the final 13 minutes of the game.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- NEC graduate goalkeeper Jackie Mountford (New London, N.H.) finished an incredible season for the 'Grims, tallying five saves on the day.
- Shots were 17-8 in favor of the Eagles.
- Mountford, senior forward Drea Chin (Laconia, N.H.), graduate defender Giuliana Kevlin (Laconia, N.H.) and senior midfielder Mikayla Vincent (Newburyport, Mass.) were all named to the NECC All-Tournament team.
