HENNIKER, N.H.- The New England College athletic department concluded that junior attacker of the men’s lacrosse team
Henry Pfeifle (Darien, Conn) was the clear-cut favorite to be awarded Pilgrim of the Month for March after witnessing his stellar performances displayed that helped earn the team two wins.
In the first game of the season against Vermont State University of Castleton on March 6
th, the junior made his presence known to the team in his first game as a Grim compiling six goals and an assist totaling up to seven points. Things didn’t stop there as he put together another impressive showing when out against Maine Maritime on March 9
th gathering three goals and two assists for five points. Pfeifle once again tallied up another seven-point outing when the ‘Grims took a trip down to Sparks, Maryland on March 11
th to compete against the University of New England where he finished with three goals and four assists on the day. In the last three games of the season, when the team was up against the likes of Regis College, SUNY Plattsburgh, and Lasell University the junior continued to flourish in every aspect of his game, recording five points in each of those contests. On six occasions this season Pfeifle has been able to score three or more goals with a minimum of five points to go with it.
“Henri has been an outstanding addition to our team, not only for his great talent and athletic ability, but also for his tremendous leadership on the field.” Head coach Jedd Brown said of his star junior transfer. “He puts his teammates above himself, investing in their development and success. He also has a tremendous competitive edge that is apparent in games and during practices. This competitive edge has also allowed his teammates, both defensively and offensively, to rise to his standards.”
Pfeifle has been on a tear this entire season thus far making into the ranks of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference being currently ranked fourth in goals with 27, fifth in points collecting 38, and third in shots taken having 105. For the team he has asserted himself first in goals, points, and second in assists gathering 11. With games such as this the junior shows no signs whatsoever of slowing down as the season progresses continuing to excel at his craft.
He and the ‘Grims prepare for a big divisional conference game on Wednesday, April 3
rd as they prepare to take on the Saints of Emmanuel College at 7:00 p.m.
