HENNIKER, N.H. - The New England College Athletics Department has named senior center Kathleen Rodriguez (McFarland, Calif.) of the NEC women’s basketball team their Pilgrim of the Month for November 2023.
Rodriguez had a strong month, leading the ‘Grims in points per game (12.5), rebounds per game (10.3), and field goal percentage (62.0%). She recorded four double-doubles across eight games played while averaging a double-double over the course of the month. Her best performance of the month came in a narrow 83-80 win over Thomas College on November 19
th, scoring 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting and bringing down 15 rebounds.
“Kathy is a very skilled and strong post player. Her play around the basket makes it hard for her opponents to guard her,” said Head Coach Erica Ledy on her senior leader. “Kathy has really improved on her rebounding. She has been a double-double threat all year as a rebounder and scorer. She excels not only on the offensive end but also is a very good defender. She is a great person and an invaluable member of our team”
At press time, Rodriguez currently ranks ninth in Division III in field goal percentage (62.0%).
The women’s basketball team looks ahead to their next game on Tuesday as they travel to Vermont State University-Johnson for a non-conference showdown set to tip-off at 5:00 PM.
