Dave DeCew

Dave DeCew

DeCew was named the Director of Athletics for New England College in July 2019. 

DeCew has been at NEC since 2003, when he was hired as the Head Coach for the Men's Soccer and Baseball teams.  During that time, Dave led the men's soccer team to win the NAC championship in 2016. A two-time NAC Coach of the Year (2012, 2014), DeCew compiled a 152-122-32 record, helping the Pilgrims to 13 playoff appearances, and coached 43 all-conference athletes.    Prior to assuming his role as AD, Dave served as Interim Associate Director of Athletics. 

Dave has served in numerous other leadership roles at NEC, including having served on the Athletic Advisory Council, Staff Executive Council, and as a Student Conduct Panelist.  Dave has prioritized community service in his career, including serving as baseball director for Henniker Youth Athletics, participating in Team Impact with the NEC men's soccer team, and sponsoring many camps and clinics.
      
DeCew initially joined NEC from Babson College in Wellesley, Mass., where he was an assistant coach for men’s soccer and baseball. In soccer, DeCew helped lead Babson to an NCAA berth in 2001.  He was tasked with focusing his efforts as the recruiting coordinator during his four years but also specialized in training goalkeepers and implementing team defensive tactics.  

DeCew attended Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, where he played varsity soccer and baseball. DeCew was an NSCAA First Team All-American in soccer and a NESCAC First Team member. DeCew was NESCAC Player of the Year in baseball, ECAC All New-England, and received the NCAA Batting Crown.

Dave currently resides in Henniker, N.H., with his wife Kristie and his two children, Addison and Callum.
