HENNIKER, N.H. - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference has announced the All-Conference women's soccer teams for the 2023 season, with New England College represented.
Sophomore
Chloe Beausoleil (Groton, Mass.) was named the All-Conference women's soccer third team due to her efforts on the field. The defender had a bigger role compared to her freshman season on the field as she capitalized on one astonishing goal off a free kick in a home game against in-state opponent Rivier University. Unfortunately ending in the loss, the goal was without question one of the top plays thus far in the 2023-24 academic year. In the last conference game against Mitchell College, Beausoleil put the 'Grims out of the Mariners' reach as she gave an incredible assist from past the midfield line that led to a 1-on-1 header goal by junior
Shelby McBain (Indianhead, Md.).
Although by not mainly being on the point of attack as a defending position, Beausoleil was without a doubt a contributor to NEC's first season in the GNAC, highlighted by a three-game win streak in October that was part of a 5-4-0 stretch.
"We knew every time Chloe stepped on the field, we were going to get her best" said head coach
Paul Vazquez on Beausoleil. "No matter who we played or what the score was she was one of the best players on the field."
Senior defender
Catie Wheeler (Benton City, Wash.) was named to the 2023 All-Sportsmanship team for women's soccer. She scored her first-ever collegiate career goal this season.
